ExN, as a Dating Profile
How does the smallest company in the industry find clients? Honestly. Here is our profile.
In ERP implementations, ultimately you need to trust someone. Trust them when the chips are falling. Trust that they can deliver. There is no process for that. You are a CEO who looked someone in the eye and gave them the go-ahead for the largest transformation their business will ever undergo.
We work through partners, and we still have to find the clients. So: not me, the company. Here we are.
Ex Nihilo
Age: younger than most of the systems we work on.
Location: Windhoek · will travel · will travel too much.
Verified ✓ by a partner, which is how everything about us works.
Height
Small. Smaller than that. We are the smallest company in this industry and we have stopped pretending the word "boutique" solves it.
My photos
One is a trial balance. Two is the same trial balance, zoomed in, because we were proud of a column. Three is a workflow diagram that is illegible on a phone. Four is a screenshot with every number blurred out. Five is a chart of accounts. Six is the team. We look tired but we look happy. That one's the real one.
Looking for
Something serious. Two to five years. You will meet the entire family, and then the entire family will be in your building.
Don't swipe right if
You need us to say "best practice". We are going to say "it depends", we are going to mean it, and it will irritate you in month one and save you in month nine.
My toxic trait
We think we can migrate it. Whatever it is. A year of financial data now lives in a task called "Transform complete, import-ready (single CSV)". We are simultaneously very calm and very unwell.
Green flag
"Just a small ask." The word "just" is carrying an entire migration on its back and has never once complained.
The one thing I want to know about you
Whether you'll ask. Someone read a requirements document, one signature from done, and wrote back: "You referred to 'not' — what is that supposed to mean?" We don't know either. Marry us.
Ideal first date
A client proposed "a meeting of the minds" to work through what's left, instead of trading another eleven emails. That's not project management. That's couples counselling. Yes.
What we're actually looking for
Someone still in the thread at 17:39 on a Friday. Someone who says "just a small ask" and means it kindly. Someone who asks what "not" is supposed to mean instead of signing anyway.
(Clients, colleagues and numbers stripped out. The dysfunction is ours to share; theirs isn't.)
